Shock Treatment

I suffered a year long bout of acute depression about 10 years ago.  Lost over 50lb's, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, was barely able to function on my job. And tried to commit suicide by jumping off the 8th floor window of a psychiatric unit I was in. They had tried all kinds of medications including Thorazine.  Nothing worked.  So finally, after the suicide attempt, I was treated with ECT. It worked and about a month later I was able to return to work.  And have been fine since.
