From Patient to Doctor

For many years I was very depressed and was in therapy for some quite some time. I started cutting aged 13, life was unbearable. I never thought I'd recover, but held on to my dream of becoming a doctor.  Seven years and a lot of very difficult times on, I'm studying medicine at uni - well on my way to achieving my dream. Everyone told me I couldn't and wouldn't make it, but I did. I can't lie and say that everything's perfect, but I'm certainly a lot happier than I've been in a very long time, and things are getting better and better. If you have a dream - keep hold of it, don't let it get lost in the pain you feel now.
